European City Leaders meet in Paris for climate change

Anne Hidalog, Mayor of Paris will be among dozens of European city leaders in Paris to pledge a commitment to climate change.

Paris has been selected as the meeting place for approximately 30 European leaders who will agree to declare their commitment to clean policies in the battle against climate change and to sign a declaration that promises to use their collective purchasing power to buy eco-friendly.

A number of Mayors from European cities have released statements outlining their plans to address climate change.

The agenda is to target the major causes of greenhouse gas emissions which include old and poorly designed buildings, transportation emissions and energy supply. Additionally they intend to improve recycling, make public transportation solutions a priority and refurbish buildings.

Paris is also schedule to host the United Nations climate change conference in December and this is a stepping stone to collaborate change.
