Finding a luxury hotel is far easier than choosing what to see first in the City of Lights. Essentially anything within the city limits is accessible by the Métro or bus, therefore you should be able to get anywhere in Paris in 30-40 minutes under normal conditions.

If you are not fond of public transportation, or plan to make your hotel a base-camp where you will return often throughout the day, it’s best to stay in the 1^st, 4^th, and the north end of the 5^th and 6^th districts which are located closest to the Seine. Other hotels in the 2^nd, 3^rd, 7^th, 8^th and 9^th are also relatively close to the center.

The further you are from the center of Paris (Ile de la Cité), the less expensive and less touristy the neighborhood will be. It is important to know exactly how close the nearest Métro station is, and whether it’s on one of the main lines 1, 4, 7 or 8 so to avoid multiple changes to get to the center.

A general rule of thumb is, the shorter your trip, the less time you’ll want to spend traveling back and forth to your hotel, so stay in a central location. For longer stays, save money and get to know the real Parisian atmosphere by staying outside the center.

Each neighborhood offers its own style and atmosphere. Many enjoy the Latin Quarter, but prefer to sleep in a quieter neighborhood. If activity and bustle is your thing, consider a hotel on a busy market street with chatty stall vendors and entertaining street musicians, or in a luxury hotel where you can see the Eiffel Tower or Opéra Garnier from your window.

If you crave the nightlife and plan on going out every night past the closing of the Métro (12:45am), you may want to choose a hotel close to your preferred nightlife area such as Le Marais,  Grands Boulevards, Champs-Elysées or Oberkampf.

The location and size of the hotel are particularly attractive to visitors. Suites are clean and spacious and some offer a small kitchen and separate living room area which is attractive. The staff are noted as friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located minutes from a Metro station, the Louvre as well as many other attractions. Centrally located with a quick 5 minute walk to the Metro. The concierge is very helpful and great a recommending restaurants and things to do as well as making reservations. The rooms are noted for being rather large for Paris standards. The hotel offers a beautiful yet contemporary style and exceptionally comfortable. Some visitors felt the lobby was a bit small, making it difficult while waiting for service and check in.
